6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp34200 folder and select the .inf (wis30b2a) file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.

Compaq Presario C776NR Windows XP Driver
This model of Presario has an audio controller that supports the high definition audio. You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for high Definition Audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver. Perform the below steps to fix the issue.
1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.
2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.
3. Select "Install from a list or specific location".
4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install".
5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.
6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.
7. Click Browse C:\swsetup\sp35682 folder and select the .inf file and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

The specification you mentioned is for AMD model, while your model is v3420TU, TU here refer to INTEL model which use INTEL processor and Intel chipset while AMD model use Nvidia chipset.
The graphic also use Nvidia 7 series for TU model and 8 series for AMD model.

Compaq Presario CQ40-310AU Windows XP Driver
may not work 100%
So i need u to tell me the progress and inform which driver didn't work
The idea was the driver is similar to compaq presario CQ40-401auSome of the driver will work i need you who download and use the driver inform me which driver didn't work and i will work on that.

There are the official XP driver for this but you need to install it manually. Try it first and if failed leave a comment and ill will write a post how to manually install the atheros drivers.For those who use the broadcom and Intel, both drivers were tested and worked.

Compaq Presario V3700 (AMD) Windows XP Driver
Note that, for most model similar to this v3700 (AMD) model which using nvidia chipset driver, the LAN/Ethernet driver will installed along with the chipset driver installation. If there are problems installing the drivers, leave your comments.
